Christmas Decor

I've been thinking about holiday decor... mostly because I really want to decorate but feel this anxiety over decorating because we don't know if we'll be moving... Friends keep asking what we are doing after graduation is over...
and if they think they're confused, imagine how we feel!

Needless to say, I haven't decorated to my full capacity.

But a girl can dream, right?

For those of you who feel settled and comfortable, how are you decorating for Christmas?

Pinspiration Update

Do you ever multitask?
I do.
It's what women do.
Right?

Why complete one task when you can complete five tasks?
That's my motto.
This past week has been full of multitasking.
As I write this post, I am taking pictures of my pinterest projects,
doing laundry, teaching my friend how to digital scrapbook (over the phone), and I might be watching "You've Got Mail".

So next time I'll take pictures of my pinterest process and make a tutorial.
I promise.

Here is an update on last week's post in which we had a glimpse at this:

Here are the the pictures to really give you a good view of how
my Pinspiration project turned out:

My tip, if you decide to make these on your own, is to get a group of girls together to make these with you. It's a lot less expensive that way. I went to Michaels and JoAnn's each week with my 40% off coupon and stocked up on styrofoam balls. I went to the Dollar Tree for my tacks (300 for $1.00) and I got my spray paint at Kmart (it was on sale at the time). I found for the fabric balls that the smaller you cut the strip of fabric, the better.

And I got the vase for $1.00 at DI.

Mission accomplished.

How would you use these balls to decorate in your home?

Baby Shower Pinspiration #2

Today's Pinspiration Project was inspired by the following pin:

For the baby shower last weekend, I made these styrofoam booties for party favors. I put M&M's in them, but you could change it up a bit.

Basically, all you do is cut the top off of the styrofoam cups and cut two slits down the cup. I use a little hole-punch for the shoe laces and once you put the ribbon through and tie the bow, you're done! Easy as that!

Have you ever used these for a baby shower?
What favors have you found on Pinterest that caught your eye?

Baby Shower Pinspiration #1

Want to know why you are such lucky readers this week?
We are actually posting 4 Pinspirations!

Two are from an adorable baby shower, one from Risa,
and one as an update from last week's pin.

Today's Pinspiration Project was inspired by this pin:

Really, I wanted to make those cute paper circular fan decorations...
long name, but good description.

First, I cut paper in equal strips and started folding them just like I was making a fan. When I got to the end of the strip of paper, I glued another strip on the end so the fan just kept growing and growing. Pretty simple, right?

Once you have about four (although I recommend five) equal strips together, you glue the last two ends together to make this cute little sharp cylinder.

Then comes the tricky part. Push one end in while pulling the other end out so you flatten it like so:

I taped these decor items to circular and square pieces of paper so that they would stay in place without worries. It was a fast, cost-effective way to add spice to the food table. For fun, I decided to add photos of some other aspects of the shower:

If you enjoyed that part of the shower, stay tuned for Wednesday when Baby Shower Pinspiration #2 is revealed! The party favors were a blast to make!

Fabric Cork Board

My peeps know that we are getting ready to move.
I talk about it all the time because I am so excited -
and you know why?
One word.

Dishwasher!

That's all I have to say!
And do you know what that means?
I don't have to be the dishwasher anymore!

I might pee my pants I'm so excited!

In all the excitement, I obviously am thinking of how I am going to arrange the furniture in our new place, what new decor I can come up with, etc.
There are some pieces of jewelry that I wear everyday,
and I thought it would be fun to use some sort of cork board to hang those necklaces and headbands and such...
so I found this idea for a DIY cork board!

What do you think?
What would you hang on your cork board?

I have forgotten about my "tips" for a few days...
hopefully you'll forgive me. :)

Maybe it should be a "tip for the week" from now on.
I might be consistent with such a time-table.

So our "Tip of the Week" is...
are you ready?
Alright, get crafty!
If you haven't already completed a DIY project, now is the time.
And if you have accomplished such a task, now's the time to finish another project.

I'm finding frames for some of my pictures from Italy,
and I'm going to give them a "vintage" look.

I'll keep you posted.

I really want to know:
What do you think of the new header on my blog?
I'm wondering what to do with it...

I figured I should post pictures of my crocheted headbands
for those of you who have been asking...

In honor of St. Patty's, here is my green one:

And a sneak peak of a few others:

Oh, and I better add my Tip for the Day
Hang those picture frames that haven't seen light since your last move.
