The reason I love the following image so much for my space was the Moroccan Wedding Blanket used as the rug.
I feel like we saw this more a little while ago, and I loved it as much then as now. Here are a few more images of the blankets used as rugs.

The ebay option is actually affordable... if I save my pennies. I'm planning on using one in the living room and it's probably going to be the biggest splurge, but well worth it.
