Fabric ideas...

We have a pair of sofas that I purchased for my first apartment.
And now, I think it's time that I "modernize" them...

This was my original inspiration:

Have I found that perfect fabric? No.
Am I sold on any of these options? No.
But I have hope. :)
Really, it's more difficult to design for your own house than it is to design for others.

Do you like any of the fabrics above?
I'm just starting my search, so suggestions would be much appreciated. :)

Update from the Lindseys!

So... I figured you might want to know where we are going next.
We have heard this question a lot
"What are you going to do once Ian graduates?"

Did I say A LOT? Yeah, a lot.
Until about a month ago, we had all sorts of answers:

-California is an option
-D.C. is calling our name
-Utah might present some great opportunities

Really, we were quite open to going anywhere.
-keyword: GOING-
Weren't we surprised when Ian was approached about STAYING at this lovely university!?!
After what seemed like decades, he received an official offer from BYU-Idaho, and we have decided to stay. I was quite shocked, but we have felt peace and comfort with our decision. We know this is where we are supposed to be right now.

Ian will be working as a coordinator in the Online Learning department, and it would be an understatement to say he is excited. We are blessed. So very blessed.

Congrats to my graduate! And all recent grads out there!

And Merry Christmas to you all!
Wishing you the best,
xoxo Steph

Unexpected Blessings

This is one of my favorite spots in the world.
And believe me, I never thought I would say that!
This is the time of the year when we reflect on our blessings and what we're thankful for. Luckily, I am married to a man that give thanks every day. So I am constantly reminded to join him. :) But this month, as I've watched the snow fall, I have been especially grateful for this little spot. It's my favorite place to drive... a little hill that makes me feel like I live in a small town. Isn't it beautiful?

I didn't want to move to Idaho. Really, I didn't. But after two icy and windy years, I am surprisingly in love. We feel blessed to live in this little college town, and we are oh so grateful for the two years that helped us grow and learn.

My favorite quote is "If you don't like something, change it.
And if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." Brilliant, right?

Blessings come from change.
Another season is coming, and for once, I'm excited for "change".

Dream Job, Dream Home

I was actually able to assist in designing my dream home.
Sure, it was 2 years ago, but I decided I should finally post pictures.
When I was in California, I designed certain portions of this home with my favorite design firm, Meridian Interiors. The principal of Meridian and I chose lighting fixtures, tile and stone, plumbing fixtures, paint, and designed cabinetry and other architectural fixtures.

Love. Love. Love.

Seasons, when does Spring come?

We are still seeing this
EVERY
day:
It makes me want to stay inside all day and drink hot chocolate!

This is who I really want to cuddle with:
And guess what I finished today!
The famously free chest of drawers!
I'll be posting pictures tomorrow!

What's your weather forecast?
You best be telling us if you see any sign of Spring!

Having fun in May...

Off for a fun weekend!

Just wanted to leave you with this inspiration:

"You should always be the best decoration in your own house." -Phoebe Howard

I love the name Phoebe, by the way. You can imagine where that love started... any guesses?

Why The Paisley Suit?

So why the paisley suit?
My husband inspired the name. He is my inspiration for a lot of things in life, and anyone who knows him would say he is well-dressed. Always. Although we do not actually have a paisley suit - yet - I like the idea of it. My husband has tons of paisley ties, and the one above was my inspiration. Maybe someday I will share the other photos I took during this tie shoot... I am sure that our neighbors wondered what in the world I was doing outside taking pictures of ties on our porch...
Here are some fun paisley inspirations:
